EECP: The New Hope for Heart Patients

Angina is a coronary artery disease, which happens when the heart does not get its usual supply of blood. When the vessels that carry the supply of blood to the heart become inoperative, it is mainly due being blocked or narrowed. When you feel that you are short of breath and certain tightness in the chest, then you may be suffering from an Angina attack. The symptoms of Angina may vary from one patient to another.

EECP also known as Enhanced External Counter Pulsation therapy is a heart blockage treatment, which is not only cost effective but also non-invasive treatment option for people that are suffering from heart diseases. This therapy does not need any painful or invasive procedures and there is also no need to get the hospitalization. All the people who undergo this treatment are able to live a normal life and resume their activities after they have received the treatment.

The ideal patient for the EECP treatment is:

-          Person that has undergone the heart bypass surgery or angioplasty, however, there are still symptoms of breathlessness and chest pain.

-          If you have had a heart attack in the past that required intervention, then the chances are that your 50% cardiac muscles have already been damaged as a result of the heart attack. This condition is diagnosed on the ECG as poor functioning of the heart or nuclear cardiac test that reveals dead muscles.

-          One who cannot undergo the surgery due to diabetic condition, stroke, liver failure, diffuse heart blood vessel disease that makes you an illegible candidate for the invasive techniques?

-          One who belongs to an old age group and cannot go through the invasive surgeries without exposing themselves to the risk of complications. If you have been advised second bypass surgery even then you qualify for EECP.

-          One who has been advised to undergo invasive treatment like angioplasty or invasive bypass surgery but is unwilling to take the treatment out of their own choice.

-          One who cannot undergo the weight loss program due to being overweight but wants to live the active life and need a jumpstart.

EECP technique is relatively safe and has high results when it comes to the treatment. The patients report that their life has improved after undergoing the EECP treatment. Although there are many reasons why EECP has gained so much popularity in all these years, the most important of these reasons is that it is an outpatient procedure and a very comfortable one at that. You don’t need any piercing needles hence the risk of getting infected are lowered significantly. It has been declared safe by many doctors and hundreds of patients get treated using EECP and have experienced an improvement in their life soon after the treatment.

Apart from minor skin abrasions as a result from blood pressure cuffs, EECP is a safe process. For the discomfort due to cuffs, you can request the doctor to help you with extra padding. You may, however, experience slight fatigue in the beginning but it will subside after a few sessions.

Cure Your Heart Problem through EECP

Despite of an increase in the number of ways to cure the severe heart related issues, many patients are yet to get relief from this problem. For leading a healthy life, it is necessary to have a functioning heart, and this is possible only if you treat it on a regular basis. Heart treatment is usually considered being expensive, and there is no assurance of its healing. Thus, many people look for effective and less expensive ways to cure this problem. By-pass surgery has been one of the oldest methods to cure heart problem, but it is not recommended for everyone as medical health of the patient needs to be considered before suggesting this treatment. Angioplasty is another way of treating this problem, but it is usually avoided as it is expensive.
Moreover, patients cannot continue with their normal life, unless they completely recover from this problem. Thus, the demand for EECP treatment these days has increased tremendously. Not only it is considered to be safer than other methods, but it is also cheap. EECP, which is also called as Enhanced External Counter Pulsation, is a new method of curing serious problem related to heart. Through this process, the experts try to augment the flow of blood to the heart, which is required for proper functioning of the heart.

There are quite a few hospitals and doctors that practice EECPtherapy in India that excel in this treatment. In this technique of treatment, the patient is asked to lie on a padded table that is meant for treatment. Also, the doctor ties the thighs and hips with a strong cuff so that patients don’t make movement, while treatment.  In this process, an effort is made to increase the flow of blood, which is done by relaxing the heart and ensuring smooth blood flow into the coronary arteries. The patients don’t have to get admitted into hospital for getting treated. Rather, they can visit the hospital every time, and can continue with their work after getting treated.
Why is this method reliable?
a.         It is inexpensive
b.         EECP is more reliable, as compared to other methods
Choose the better hospital:
There are many hospitals that provide such treatment, and the details can be found from the net. Such treatment is usually provided in the form of OPD, and so the patients don’t have to get admitted into the hospital. They can visit the hospital for the number of weeks specified by the doctors, and get treated. Once the course of treatment has been done, they can continue with their routine works. As the expenses incurred for such treatment is less, many people of all age group prefer this process. The result is positive, however, if there is no relief, then, the patients can actually move on towards the advanced heart treatment.

EECP: The Painless Treatment For Your Heart

The heart is one of the most vital organs important for a human life. In case of a heart failure, one cannot live for even a few minutes, as all the internal functions of the body depend on the smooth blood flow supplied by the heart. Because of the continuous functions and beats of the heart, one does not feel problem but even a small disruption in heart functioning can cause pain in the heart. It can be a slight pain in the initial stage and with the passage of time, this pain can turn into severe angina pain and can lead to even heart failure also.
How it happens?
As the heart functions continuously, one does not value it. It is the heart only because of which all other organs can work perfectly. It needs smooth blood flow to pump towards other organs to keep the body alive. If due to blockages in the arteries the blood flow does not pass in required quantity, it affects the heart adversely and leads to pain. To correct this situation, the blockages in the arteries have to be removed which is done by medical science through different operative and non operative techniques. Angioplasty, and bypass surgery are some of the most prevailing options in current time.
EECP Treatment: How it is done?
EECP stands for Enhanced External Counter Pulsation. It is also a treatment for angina or chest pain. It basically aims to make the heart function normally, and if the heart functions normally, it does not create pain. It functions on a very simple mechanism, to provide thrust to the blood flow so that the heart can work perfectly in rhythm. In this treatment, no operation is done and process is very simple. The patient just needs to take around 35 hour treatment and the treatment session can be of 1 to 2 hours maximum per day. In this treatment, pneumatic cuffs are fitted to the patient’s body externally. These  cuffs contract and expand in a rhythm of the heart, and this movement is monitored by specialists with the help of the cardiograms. These cuffs propel the blood to the heart, and thus, the blood flow becomes smooth and heart receives proper blood to beat and pump ahead.
EECP as a Treatment:
Under this treatment, none of the body organs are cut and so people who do not want to go for operation or who cannot go for operation due to any limitation, this therapy is a boon. Generally this therapy can be given to any patient subject to certain limitations. EECP heart therapy is very helpful for those who suffer from the frequent heart failure or continuous angina pain. It is also very useful for the patients who are undergoing heavy medication for angina pain. Due to its such wonderful features only, this therapy is popular among heart patients beyond the geographical boundaries.
